Mondays can be tough, they’re reminders of the entire week ahead and back to reality, but they don't have to be that bad.
Just think about it one day closer to Tuesday ... and Tuesday means tacos! Yes, it is the beginning of the week, but one way to start strong is to meet a good company to enjoy something. What better theme for a day of the week than tacos?
Yes Tacos, there is no certainty about the origin of the name. It could be derived from the Nahuatl word 'tlahco' which means half or half and hints that food is placed at the center of the tortilla, although some historian have the theory that the word is taken from the Spanish, for whom The word had several other meanings (plug, drumstick, pool stick, drink). Who would have thought this delicious food would have its own day in a foreign country?
The taco is daily meal in Mexico and other countries in Central America, however its tasty flavors extended all over US border and right now it’s one of the most popular meals in North America, and it seems it reached the sports through the NBA’s famous player Lebron James who happens to be also a top Taco lover. He popularized the term Taco tuesdays.
This is not just made-up, or originally created by him, who by the way intended to trademark it but somewhere down the line, Tuesday became almost a national holiday in celebration of tacos and many people celebrate it religiously. Restaurants make the most of this as people go for some of the classic roast beef or pork stuffing wearing actually a taco lover shirt. What better way to send an invitation to a group of your closest friends or colleagues to celebrate Taco on Tuesday than to get a little creative and wear matching shirts with your children or friends.
The start of the week doesn't have to be that bad anymore thanks to good friends and some tacos!
